Helen Marie Dixon

Passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the age of 97 years. Helen Marie Wolverton was born on April 5, 1921 in Saginaw to the late Frank and Alice (Howley) Wolverton. She married Aubry E. Dixon on October 20, 1945; he predeceased her on December 23, 2006. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. George Catholic Church, where she participated as an Eucharistic minister and in the ladies society. Helen was also a member of the League of Catholic Women. She enjoyed games of Euchre and spending time with her family. Surviving are her son: James and his wife Cynthia Dixon of Burt, MI; six grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, James, Julie, Cena and Patrick Dixon, three great-grandchildren: Aubry, Lena, and Cameron, her sisters-in-laws: Juanita Lane, Natalie Dixon and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Helen was predeceased by her son, Brian Dixon on March 28, 2006 and her siblings: Sara Hart, Francis Wolverton, Gertrude (Norman) Brettrager, Kenneth Wolverton and a sister-in-law Donna Wolverton. The family would like to thank Marilyn and Larry and Reverence Hospice Nurse, Karen for the loving care they gave Helen. Funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Rd. Fr. Gerry Pehler, O.F.M. Cap will officiate with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
