Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Age 94 years.
Henry was born on November 13, 1929, son of the late Henry and Bertha (Bomas) Harden Sr. in Saginaw. He married the love of his life, Violet Hartwig on March 26, 1955. She survives him. Henry served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #1566 and American Legion Post #439. Henry returned home and utilized the skills gained in the Navy as a Pattern Maker with General Motors. He retired from General Motors in Management, after 38 years of dedicated service. As a child, he was baptized at First Presbyterian Church and had remained a member since. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #155, at the 32nd Degree.
Henry loved and adored his family. He was a dedicated husband, supportive father, an amazing grandfather and mentor. Henry enjoyed the outdoors, soaking up the sun’s rays and performing magic tricks for the kids. He will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor and being a social butterfly who never met a stranger.
Surviving are his wife, Violet Harden; daughters and their spouses, Jan (Rick) Bonnau and Sandy (Perry) Campau; grandchildren, Jacob (Allie) Campau, Joy (Mike) Bonnau-Poling; great grandchildren, Autum Poling and Cooper Campau; sister, Pat Wilson; cousins, Pim and Marcella Bomas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jill Anne Harden, sister, Nancy Baxter, brother-in-law, Alvin Wilson and nephew, Marc Wilson.
Funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service, where a Masonic Service will be held and military honors under the auspices of the United States Navy and V.F.W. Post #1566.
