Henry Salacina Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Hoyt Nursing home, two days short of his 92nd birthday. The son of the late Anna (Sokolowski) and Carl Salacina was born May 9, 1925 in Genoa, Ohio, growing up near Fremont, Michigan. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He married June Loretta Imker, December 25, 1946. She passed away January 27, 2005. Henry was employed by Mitts and Merrill until it's closing. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, gardening and taking drives to watch wildlife. Surviving are three sisters and a brother, Ruby Kuhns; Lloyd and Peggy Salacina; Betty Neibarger; Joy Barton; many nieces and nephews; his special friend, Dot Becker. He was predeceased by three brothers, one sister, Abe Salacina; Rose Hansel; Charles Salacina; Carl Salacina; three sisters-in-law, Claudine Dankert; Lillian Wagner and Marie Newvine. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate with Military entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
