Stokes, Henry T. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the Cartwright Hospice Residence, at the age of 87 years. He was born September 14, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Treva N. (Okley) and Henry T. Stokes, Sr. He served with the US Air Force during the Korean War, and was discharged with the rank of Airman Second Class. He retired as inspector from General Motors after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed woodworking, and made many crosses for family and friends. He was also an avid University of Michigan football fan. He married Anna May Koch on May 4, 1958; she predeceased him April 12, 2016. Surviving are his son, Thomas Stokes, Saginaw; one grandson, Matthew Thomas Stokes; also three daughters, Vera, Treva and Susan, and their families; one brother and two sisters, Richard, Ducky, and Edith; several nieces and nephews, including Bonnie, Nancy, and Julie; and close friends, Shirley, Christine, Bob and Gary. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Bob. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, where his family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Rev. Edward A. Meyer will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be under the auspices of the United States Air Force and VFW Post #1859.
