Herbert G. Hodges

Hodges, Herbert G. Merrill, Michigan Passed away early Saturday, January 03, 2015, at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis, Michigan, with his family at his side. Age 78 years. Herbert was born February 21, 1936, in Marion Springs, the son of the late Cleve and Zella (Good) Hodges. He married Adeline I. Tack on August 4, 1956; she predeceased him May 13, 2002. He retired from General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry, after 43 years of service. He was very handy, and enjoyed fixing anything and everything. He also enjoyed working in his garden. Surviving are his children, Lynn Hodges, Lois and Fred Earle, Bill and Doreen Hodges, and Paul Hodges; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerome Hodges; many nieces, nephews, and their families. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two daughters, Lisa Bott and Lori Benton; one sister, Beatrice Eggebrecht, and one brother, James Hodges. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill, where his family will receive friends from 3:00 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and then on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
