Howard Rivers

Howard Rivers Burt, Michigan Passed away at Maple Woods Manor in Clio, on Friday, July 1, 2016, age 83 years. Howard was born on December 31, 1932, son of the late Claude and Sabria (Lacy) Rivers, in Saginaw. He married Dorothy Hickmott on February 15, 1958, she survives him. He served in the U.S. Army. Howard retired from General Motors after 30 plus years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #699. He enjoyed fishing, camping, farming, traveling, helping neighbors, friends and family. Besides his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy, he is survived by his children, Howard (Monika) Rivers Jr., Sue Rivers, and Nancy (Bob) Little; two grandchildren, one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Alvin Rivers, Keith Rivers Sr., and infant brother, Ervin Rivers; his infant sister, Nancy Rivers. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Chaplain Bob Koch will officiate with burial in Cook Cemetery in Taymouth Township. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
