Ida Doran,
Saginaw, Michigan
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord, husband and son on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 95 years.
The daughter of the late Mathias and Frieda (Weber) Fritz was born on October 16, 1924 in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. She married Harvey George Doran on March 1, 1943; he predeceased her on September 29, 1979. Ida was a member of St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, ceramics, reading and she cherished her time spent with her family.
Surviving are her daughter and son: Patricia (Chuck) Carroll of Tawas City; Michael (Kathy) Doran of Ithaca; six grandchildren: Daniel (Jennifer) Doran, Pamela (Shannon) Ewka, Scott (Marlene) Gerhardt, Bradley Gerhardt, Bethany (Joe) Vozar, Allison (Ryan) Lamey; fifteen great-grandchildren: Quinn, Erik, Chelsey, Nicholas, Todd, Sabrina, Melissa, Deakan, Carter, Nora, M.J., Judah, Mitchell, Caroline, Colt and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including her former son-in-law: Thomas Gerhardt. Besides her parents, and husband: Harvey Sr.; Ida was predeceased by her son: Harvey George Doran Jr.; her daughter-in-law: Janet Doran; and her brothers: Raymond Fritz, Edward Fritz, LeRoy Fritz, William Fritz; her sister: Amelia “Dolly” Landskroener; and her very dear friend: Mary North.
The family of Ida would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of 7 Main at Covenant Harrison; The Toni and Trish Hospice House of Auburn; very special family friend: Lynn Hunter for their respectful and compassionate care of Ida.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw; also from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Wednesday at the church. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. State guidelines will be followed.
