Indulis "Al" Judzis Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at his home. Age 74 years. The son of the late Arvids and Vanda (Bakis) Judzis was born January 4, 1942 in Latvia, coming to the USA in 1950. He graduated from Saginaw High School and attended Michigan State University, studying journalism. He married Jane A. Zalba, May 2, 1970. She survives him. He was employed by General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry, CDVC, retiring in 2002 with 39 years of service. Al was very active with Saginaw Township Soccer, serving on the Board of Directors, as a coach, coach of travel teams and the first coach of the Nouvel High School Soccer Club. He also served as Head of Referees for the Saginaw Township Soccer Assoc. Al was a member of the American Latvian Assoc. He loved the great outdoors and particularly enjoyed his annual trout fishing trip to Idaho with his two brothers. He was an avid Detroit Tiger and Red Wing Fan. Surviving besides his wife, Jane, are a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chris Karides; a great granddaughter, Brinley Anne Garchow; two brothers and their wives, Arvids and JoAnn Judzis; Arnis and Amy Judzis; his best friend and brother-in-law, Brian Howey; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson, Jordan Garchow, on December 9, 2014. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. His brother-in-law, Jim Zalba, will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday.
