Iona June Booze (Voelker)

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Thursday, December 29^th, 2022, at the age of 85. She was born on May 7^th, 1937, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late Harold & Irene (Holom) Voelker. Throughout the years, Iona worked as a home healthcare aide, bringing her bubbly and caring personality to the homes of countless people. She met Larry Booze in Panama and the two spent over 30 years together in marriage. In her free time, Iona enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and had a particular love of animals, raising horses while growing up and keeping the company of many dogs throughout the years. She enjoyed fishing and dancing, and especially taking care of her family that she so cherished. Iona is remembered as being a unique social butterfly with a notable laugh who loved dressing up and dining out. She was classy and adventurous, with a big heart and a bigger personality.

Iona is survived by her husband, Larry Booze; children Rev. John (Debbie) Neyman, Pam Schanck, and Carla Schanck, and Doug Booze; grandchildren Philip Neyman, Laura Slingluff, Matthew Neyman, Douglas Neyman, Elena Neyman, Marisa (Brandon) Murray, Jenella McIntosh, Cambriella McIntosh, Sashella McIntosh, and Glenn Hudson; and many great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Iona was preceded in death by her sons Rick Schanck and Doug Neyman.
