Irene Judy Butzin

Irene Judy Butzin Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Covenant Harrison. Age 83 years. The daughter of the late Selma (Kuck) and John Sahr was born February 11, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Henry Junior Butzin June 22, 1964. He passed away February 16, 1978. She had been employed by Rainbow Bread and Millers Motel. She was of the Lutheran faith. She served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. She was an accomplished ceramics painter. Surviving are four children, Renee (Hopper) Carolan; Marc and Deb Carolan; Sky and Bonnie Carolan; Colt and Janice Carolan; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Holly and Aaron Longtain; Chase Carolan; Shari and Brandon Mulvaney; Mickey and Erin Carolan; Tammy and Eric Kolenda; Christopher Carolan; Theresa and Gunner Hodgson; David and Jodi Hopper; ten great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Mott; a brother, Jim Sahr; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jay A. Carolan, two brothers, Gerald and Charles Risner and an infant sibling. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Phillip DeVries will officiate. Military burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Disabled Veterans of America.
