Ismael Garcia Gutierrez

Gutierrez, Ismael Garcia Merrill, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his home, age 82 years. Ismael was born in Bryon, Texas June 5, 1930 the son of the late Antonio and Francisca (Padilla) Gutierrez. He married Mary Samaniego in 1952. She predeceased him November 18, 2005. Ismael loved being outdoors in his garden and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ismael is survived by nine children, David (Sandy) Gutierrez, Maria Antonia (Hector) Martinez, Julia (Rogelio) Torralva, Santiago (Carolyn) Gutierrez, Esperanza (Felix) Herrera, Rosario Gutierrez, Anna (Roger) Barbour, Susana (Juan) Rodriquez and Ismael (Tammy) Gutierrez, Jr.; 43 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Antonio Gutierrez; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Ismael was predeceased by five siblings, Santiago Gutierrez, Theodoro Villalobos, Celia Gutierrez, Juana Espinoza and Catalina Cornejo. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Merrill, MI. Rev. Fr. Craig Carolan will officiate with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 9:00 p.m. at W. L. Case & Company, Merrill where they may join the family for a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral.
