Ivan Gene Baze

Ivan Gene Baze Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away with his family by his side on June 28, 2017, at the age of 69 years. Ivan was born September 30, 1947, in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He proudly served as a police officer for many years. He retired from the Saginaw City Police and then the Clare County Sheriffs Department. He enjoyed gardening, sports, golfing, fishing, and camping. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and his Chippewa Heritage. Ivan will fondly be remembered by all that knew him for his sense of humor and making people smile. He married Diane (Beebe) Baze on March 29, 1969; she survives him. Besides his wife he will be dearly missed by his children, Lisa (Rob) Draper and Renae (Dennis) Sumption; grandchildren, Camille, Mac, Haley, Alexa, Jordan, and Caden; mother, Margaret (McNally) Baze; step-mother, Eileen Baze; siblings, Geraldine Poineau, Terry Baze, Nancy Cody, Jerry Baze; sisters-in-law, Kitty Beebe, Judy Robinson, Glenda Erdman, Kathy Dunn, Barb (Dick) Tolles; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his father Gerald Baze. Memorial services will take place at 12:00 noon Thursday, July 6, 2017, at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Rd with honors rendered by the Saginaw police department. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
