Jack A. LaBreck Jr.

LaBreck, Jack A. Jr. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the age of 84 years. Jack was born February 11, 1933, the son of the late Jack A. LaBreck, Sr. and Eleanor (Rehmus) Ball. He graduated from Bay City Central High School with the Class of 1950, where he served as Class President and annually chaired the reunion committee until this day. He attended Bay City Junior College and then received his Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan in 1954. He served with the US Army during the Korean War from 1954 - 1956. He married Catherine "Kay" Fisher on June 30, 1968, and she predeceased him on March 6, 2017. Jack was a CPA and owner of the Jack A. LaBreck Jr. Accounting and Tax Service in Saginaw. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed playing on the church softball league in his earlier years. He was a life-member and past Treasurer of the Germania Town and Country Club. He was also a member of the Bay City Country Club, Kiwanis Club, the Jaycees, and the Saginaw County Sheriffs Response Team. Jack was a 32nd degree Mason. He had served as Treasurer for Saginaw Township. Jack was an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching U of M football games, cooking and playing cards with friends. He and Kay loved spending time at Lake George and travelling to Sedona, Arizona. Surviving are his daughters, Linda Allen, Karen (Thomas) Bowyer, Linda (James) Grills, Debra (Vince) Earegood, and Dr. Patricia (Adam Roy) LaBreck; four granddaughters, Carrie (Keith) Lunn, Stacie (Jarred) Allen, Kaitlin (Matt) Bekken, and Kelsey Bowyer; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Gracie, Allison and Landon, and another great-grandson on the way, Jackson; two brothers, James (Ann) LaBreck and Gerald (Margie) LaBreck; brothers-in-law, Gerard (Lillian) Fisher, Richard Fisher, William (Pam) Fisher, Dr. Robert (Peggy) Fisher, and Robert Krupka; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Julie Krupka, and by three sisters-in-law, Patricia Murphy, Rose Marie Fisher, and Kay Fisher. He loved his beloved dog, Bisquit, who will miss him. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the outstanding care and compassion during treatment at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, 121 S. Harrison Street, Saginaw, Michigan. The Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and then at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors, under the auspices of the Carrollton VFW Post #1859. Per Jacks wishes, cremation will take place later.
