Jack Springberg age 75 passed away May 22, 2019 after a brief illness in Saginaw, Michigan. Jack was born March 7, 1944 in Cadillac, Michigan, son of the late Carl and Waneta Springberg. Jack spent much of his childhood playing hockey on the ice rink his father maintained in the side yard of their home; not only skating with his siblings, but all the neighborhood kids. Jack attended and graduated from Cadillac High School. After graduating, Jack joined the U.S. Army and served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he worked at the pickle factory in Saginaw. While there he met his future brother-in-law who introduced him to the love of his life Mary Brittenham. They would go on to celebrate 50 years of marriage. Together they had two children, Gordon (Kathy) Springberg of Marinette, WI and Chad (Charlessa) Springberg of Grayslake, IL. In addition to his wife and two children, Jack is survived by siblings Gary and the late Peggy Springberg, Shirley (Greg) Holmquist, Jean Springberg, Carol (Jim) Gauld, his grandchildren Christopher, Hannah, Preston, numerous nieces and nephews, and Sister-in-law Bonnie (Don) Ewing. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed playing euchre, painting, campfires, and time with his neighbors. He worked at Delphi and retired from there in 2005. Following Jacks wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI. A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm on June 1, 2019. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00- 2:00pm. The family wishes to thank the staff at Covenant Cooper Hospital for all their work.
