Jack Tingle Williams Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at McBrite Manor at the age of 88 years. He was born August 16, 1927 in Saginaw to the late Jesse T. and Elsie H. (Holmberg) Williams. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1945 and then served with the U. S. Army. Jack married Phyllis Marie Peters October 9, 1948; she predeceased him January 20, 2003. He owned and operated Standard Oil Service Station on Janes Street and was later employed by Saginaw Steering Gear until retirement. During retirement, Jack was also employed by Saginaw County Juvenile Center as a process server. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered for its food pantry. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Vickie Ann Hayes and her husband, Dan; Cheryl L. Stokes; and Jack T. Williams and his wife, Nikki; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Rudi) Nitschmann, Lindsey (Riley) VanDyke, Becky (Don) Zinz, Christina (Randy) Lorenzo, Nathan Hatton, Ryan Stokes, Kyle Stokes, Jack Williams and Emma Williams; six great-grandchildren, Brady, Natalie, Meredith, John, Maxwell and Charlotte; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his friend Sally Knight and many other friends at McBrite Manor. The family would like to extend special thanks to all of the staff at McBrite Manor. Besides his wife, Jack was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah K. Gerwin; a grandson, Scott A. Gerwin; his son-in-law, Rod Stokes; and his two brothers, Donald and Eugene Williams. He was also predeceased by his special friend, Ruth Koerber. Memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Friends may visit with relatives at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
