James A. Allen Saginaw Twp., MI Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side on June 24, 2015, at the age of 76 years. James was born December 26, 1938, in Sheridan Twp., Michigan to the late Lester and Olive (Teale) Allen. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He married the love of his life, Wanda Maynor, on January 31, 1987; she survives him. He retired from Dow Corning in 1998 after 29 years of service as a production supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and going for walks with his wife. He has visited all 50 states. James was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport until the time of his sickness. He joyfully served the Lord for many years and the greatest day of his life was accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Wanda; their six children, Lisa (Troy) Waddington, Tammy (Jim) Leavitt, Tiffany (Montie) Smith, James (Natasha) Allen, Gloria Gonzales, and Carla (Mark) Pribila; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ila Houseman, Rosemary Kenyon, Linda (Robert) Whitworth, Connie Hess, Richard (Julaine) Allen, and Harley (Joyce) Allen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Kimberly and his brother Lester. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, 2400 King Rd. Pastor R.B. Ouellette will officiate with private entombment at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. and again at church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers expression of sympathy may be made in James's memory to Bridgeport Baptist Academy Scholarship Fund.
