James A. Farrand Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at his home. Age 80 years. The son of the late Clarence Albert and Cynthia (Skinner) Farrand was born September 6, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Mary Farrand who predeceased him. He established Farrand Builders in 1957 and retired in 1997. He was very active in and had served as President of the Home Builders Association of Saginaw. James served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his companion, Marilyn Dowd, and two sons and a daughter, David Farrand, Freeland, MI; Sara Van Mullekom and her husband, Larry, Bay City, MI; John Farrand, Saginaw, MI; his grandchildren, Annie, Kyle, Jared, Andrew, Travis, Taylor, Logan, Noah, Ryan and Jason; a sister-in-law, Ellen Farrand; several nieces and nephews. A son, Greg Farrand, two brothers and two sisters, William, Hazel, Marietta and Thomas, have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at Noon Monday, June 24, 2013, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Private burial will take place in Hale, Michigan. Friends may call at the Chapel from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 11:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral service.
