James D. Fordos

Fordos, James D. Merrill, Michigan Loving husband, father and papa passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the age of 61 years. The son of the late Evelyn (Naessens) and Ernest Fordos was born on January 30, 1953 in Saginaw. He married Kenna Wenzel on November 8, 1975; she survives him. In 1970, together with his father, James began working as an organic farmer in Merrill, where the business is now in its third generation of family ownership. James was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, and the Knights of Columbus Council #2291. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and bowling. Surviving besides his wife of 39 years, Kenna, are their children: Derek Fordos, Matthew (Jessica) Fordos, granddaughters: Addison and Lexie Fordos, his siblings: Debbie (Bob) Watson, Bill (Ellen) Fordos, Donna (Bill Schwieger) Wilson, Rose (Ron) Kube, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Delynn Wenzel, Gary "Butch" (Pam) Wenzel, his father-in-law, Ken Wenzel and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. James was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Helen (Maier) Wenzel and his step mother-in-law Mildred (Clark-Church) Wenzel. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Merrill. Rev. Fr. Duane Wachowiak and Rev. Fr. Philip Naessens will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel in Merrill on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. where a vigil followed by a Knights of Columbus service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
