Peters, James F. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at Saginaw Geriatrics Home, at the age of 92 years. He was born September 29, 1924, in Saginaw, the son of the late Marlet J. and Metta (Morgan) Peters. He worked as a bricklayer, starting with his father at the age of 16 years, retiring in 1976. He later was employed by the Carrollton Police Department as a school crossing guard for 10 years. He was a member of Countryside Trinity Church, and was a life-member of the Saginaw Lodge #77, F.&A.M., Martha Washington Chapter #113, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem #34. He married Lois L. Schaffer on June 14, 1952; she predeceased him January 17, 1990. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Lori P. and Michael John, Saginaw; a step-sister, Shirley (Williamson) Nadobny, Saginaw; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Peters, Saginaw; Evelyn Schaffer, Salisbury, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families, including a special niece, Alice Donnenwerth. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Willie Burgess Peters; ten brothers and two sisters, Eva Opal Peters Ely, William Marlet Peters, George Alfred Peters, Iva Almita Millissia Peters, Earl Wilson Peters, Melvin Gerald Peters, Donald Robert Peters, Alfred Valentine Peters, Roy Alden Peters, Harold Thomas Peters, Victor Peters, and Charles Williamson. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and then on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
