James G. Joswiak Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 following a brief illness, age 81 years. He was born on February 18, 1935, son of the late George and Josephine (Stelmark) Joswiak, in Bessemer, Michigan. He married Ruth Hansen on September 4, 1954, she survives him. With over 60 years in the glass business, Jim was still active as owner and operator of Bay Glass Company in Bay City. He had been recognized as being fair and honest to his employees and customers. Jim was a member of the National Glass Dealers Association, the Bay City Chamber of Commerce, Germania Club and Fordney Club. James enjoyed hot air balloon excursions and was an avid sports fan, especially being loyal to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He loved to travel and has visited all 50 states.
Besides his loving wife, Ruth, he is survived by his children, Charlotte (Stephen) Jacqmain, Barbara (Andrew) Wilson, Kenneth Joswiak, Kathleen Danhoff and Patricia (Robert) Phillips; his grandchildren, Bridget (Matthew) Forsberg, Nicholas (Audrey) Jacqmain, Doug (Danielle) Danhoff, Joseph and Carly Blanchett; his great grandchildren; his brother, William (Janet) Joswiak; also many nieces, nephews other special relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Joswiak.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Mary Schuetz will officiate. Burial will take place on Thursday in Gerrish Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Junior Achievment or the Fordney Club.
