Trombley, James George Saginaw, MI (formerly of Merrill, MI) Passed away August 29, 2014, at the age of 67 years. James was born February 4, 1947, in Saginaw the son of the late Virgil Joseph and Ruth Martha (Hulme) Trombley. The family moved to Merrill in 1949 where he attended Merrill Community Schools. He enjoyed playing trumpet in the band and graduated with the class of 1965. One of his fondest remembrances in school was participating in the musical "Bye Bye Birdie". He worked for Morley Brothers until he joined the National Guard in 1967. He received an honorable discharge in 1972. Jim then went to work for General Motors for 27 years. Jim loved hunting, fishing, golf, and the "Casinos". His very favorite place to be was in Hawaii where he spent several winters. He is survived by 2 sisters, Nancy (William) DeMerell of Breckenridge, and Janice (Dr. Arno) Schury of Frankenmuth; 7 nieces and nephews, Kathy Claxton, William (Lucinda) DeMerell, Karen (Stephen) Cole, Kelly (Britt) Roberts, Lori (Herminio) Gonzalez, Kristi (Dr. Mark) Gugel, and Dr. Mark (Sue) Schury; many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Kathleen and Sam Benjamin. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, William DeMerell; nephew, Michael DeMerell; and great-nephew, Devin DeMerell. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
