James Israel Lown

Lown, James Saginaw, Michigan James passed away peacefully following a long four year battle with lung disease at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit on February 26, 2019 at the age of 63. Jim was born on June 15, 1955 in Shelbyville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Israel and Mildred (Berry) Lown. Jim was a graduate of Saginaw High, class of 1973. Jim married Susan Knights on October tenth 1978 in Honalulu Hawaii. After high school he began working for General Motors as a truck driver, he retired in 2006 after 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, classic cars and taxidermy. James also loved to spend time with his family. Surviving besides his wife Susan are his daughter and son in law Sheri and Ron Leszczynski and their children; Samantha, Beth and Ron Jr; great grandchildren; Weston, Kayla, Nolan and Joseph, many nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters; Shirley Weigandt, Deana Prudhomme, George (Jackie) Lown, and John (Lorna) Lown. He was preceaded in death by two sisters and two brothers; Barbara Priest, Diane Altman, David Lown and Larry Jackson. A private family service has taken place. Arrangements made by W.L. Case and Company. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Faith Lutheran Church or the Wounded Warriers Project. The family would like to thank Saint Marys six floor Trauma, ICU staff and Dr. Kaila Ramasamy. The family asks in Jims name that everyone do something special for someone everyday.
