Passed on August 5, 2024, in his hometown of Saginaw. He was born on June 2, 1955, to the late William and Bernice Knights.

James lived a fulfilling life surrounded by love and laughter. He was a strong-minded, generous, and caring person. James was known for his various hobbies and interests which included hunting, fishing, being an outdoorsman, enjoying the casino scene, working on automobiles, and constructing things with his hands. These activities brought him immense joy and connected him with many friends who shared his passions. One of James' proudest accomplishments was marrying the love of his life, Sandra, on December 4, 1975. Their union was a testament to their enduring love and partnership that lasted throughout the years.

James will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends. He is remembered fondly by his wife Sandra; two children: Deanna and Michael; two grandchildren: Devon, Jamal; one great grandson: LiAngelo; sister: Lillian; brother: Paul (Barbara); sister-in-law Judy. His presence in their lives brought warmth and happiness that will forever be cherished. James was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: William and John.

Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
