James Leo Francetic

James Leo Francetic Livonia, Michigan Formerly of Merrill, Michigan Passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Angela Hospice Care Center, Livonia. Age 93 years. The son of the late Julia (Marohnic) and Anthony Francetic was born April 17, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Marjorie O. Street, she passed away in 1978. Later he married Kazuko Mueller (Arita), July 19, 1980. She survives him. James served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was employed by the State of Michigan, Department of Transportation, retiring in 1978 with 32 years of service. He was a member of the Livonia Masonic Lodge #586 F & AM, the Scottish Rite and enjoyed bowling and golfing. Surviving besides his wife, Kazuko, are a son, Ronald Francetic; a daughter and son-in-law, Risa and Walter Scherer; 6 grandchildren, Brenda Rivera, Noel (Jason) Surma, Dustin (Erica) and Trish Francetic, Clarke and Luke Scherer; 7 great grandchildren, Nick, Chelsea and Anthony Rivera; Jackson Surma, Adelyn Francetic, Jordan Holoman and Brody Nunn; a sister, Alice Gorney, two brothers, John and Rudy Francetic; many nieces and nephews. Eight brothers and sister have predeceased him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Noon, Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
