James Lewis Elliott Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home. Age 89 years. The son of the late Paul and Flora Belle (Davidson) Elliott was born May 13, 1928 in Mayfield, Kentucky. He married Barbara A. Granger, November 28, 1971. She survives him. He was employed as a truck driver, retiring from Sysco Foods with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Bridgeport Eagles Club and the Kosciusko Club. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards and gardening. Surviving besides his wife, Barbara, are four children and their spouses, Dana and Linda Elliott; Steve and Penny Elliott; Pat Block; Cathy Smith; two step-children, Walter and Sandi Schlicker; Teena Schlicker and her friend, Jim Lapeak; twenty-three grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; one sister, Alma Sue Deaton; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step-daughter, Darlene Brady, two sons-in-law, Dale Smith and Tim Block, a sister, Helen Malugin and a brother, Billy Elliott. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St. Bridgeport, MI. Rev. Ronald L. Sinclair will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the Church from Noon Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
