James Poineau

James "Chief" Poineau Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved brother, uncle and friend unexpectedly passed away on June 30, 2018, at the age of 56. Jim was born August 5, 1961 to the late Alfred and Donna (Toronjo) Poineau. He resided in St. Charles until 1984 then he moved to Zilwaukee to be closer to his family. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and gambling. He liked to go to the casino and playing poker with his family. Jim was a wonderful man and trusted friend. Jim worked for 33 years at Quality Asphalt and many years at Michigan Sugar. He made many friends that became like family: Mr. Danno, Mr. Dale, Mr. Shaney, Frank and special friend, the owner, Ron Klimkewicz. Jim will be missed by his siblings, Robert (Maggie) Poineau and Marianne (Bill Snyder) Woody; his nieces and nephews that were like his own, Vanessa, Katie (Nick), and Bobby (Rita); great-nieces and nephews that he shared a special bond with, Taylor, Isaac, Bobby Lee, Blair, Abel, Olivia, Ava and Emma; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Poineau. He was predeceased by his siblings, Richard, Nina (Arden) Brown, Beverley (Larry) Hartle, and infant brother Johnny. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Marys, MMR and Quality Asphalt for the care they provided to Jim. Funeral services will take place at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
