James "Jimmy" Buckley Of Saginaw, MI
Beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on August 29, 2019. He was 58 years old. Jimmy was born on September 10, 1960 to the late James Buckley and Kathleen (Darby) Meier in Saginaw, MI. He attended Swan Valley Schools and went on to work as a chef at the Grand Hotel. He was a member of the Leader Dogs for the Blind with his leader dogs, Tango and Amber, as well as the Lions Club. He even acted as president for a year. Jimmy was also an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan.
He is survived by a long term companion, Connie Leitz; two children, Timothy Buckley and Samantha Buckley and her son, Timmy; two siblings, Patti Kay (Gary) Hill and Mike (Dianne) Buckley; two nephews, Gary (Christiana) Hill and Chad (Dana) Hill; a niece, Katy Buckley; a special cousin, Dennis Darby, who was with the family throughout this difficult time; as well as uncles, aunts and cousins. He is predeceased by a brother, Timothy Buckley.
A memorial liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Ss. Francis and Clare Parish, 12157 Church St. Birch Run, MI. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Leader Dogs for the Blind. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to St. Mary Ascension 4th and 6th Floor ICU staff as well as Heartland Hospice for their kindness.
