James R. Pretzer

James R. Pretzer Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013, at his home. Age 77 years. The son of the late Anna (Fischer) and Arnold Pretzer Sr. was born May 28, 1936 in Saginaw County, Michigan. He graduated as Co-Valedictorian of Hemlock High School, Class of 1954. James married Donna J. Gangle, August 23, 1958. She survives him. He was employed by Hemlock Public Schools, retiring August 7, 1998, with twenty-five years of service. He was a life long member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Pretzer Rd. Hemlock. He enjoyed gardening, camping and most of all his family. Surviving besides his wife, Donna, are four children and their spouses, David and Cindy Pretzer, St. Charles, MI; Barbara and John Musinski, Lake Orion, MI; Wayne and Jill Pretzer, Midland, MI; Matthew and Debbra Pretzer, Freeland, MI; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Robert Pretzer; Jennifer and Jeff Marshall; Andrew Pretzer; Laura and Ryan Cross; Amanda and Rev. Thomas Moldenhauer; Phillip Musinski; Michael Pretzer; Sarah Pretzer; Megan Pretzer; three great grandchildren, Graham and Oliver Marshall; Isabel Moldenhauer; His brothers and sisters and their spouses, Kenneth and Thelma Pretzer; Raymond Pretzer; Arnold Pretzer, Jr; Dorothy Pretzer; Glen and Linda Pretzer, Ronald and Deborah Pretzer; Thomas and Susan Pretzer; Otto and Donna Pretzer; Joyce Diener and her friend Ted; Douglas and Judy Pretzer; Elizabeth and Christopher Jeroue; his brothers-in-law, Edward Linn and Harvey Rogner; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Pretzer, Judith Rogner, a brother, Robert Pretzer; sisters-in-law, Joyce Linn, Elizabeth Pretzer and a brother-in-law, August Diener. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 2290 Pretzer Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Phil Bigelow will officiate with burial in Richland Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and then on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. John Ev.
