James Ray Bastedo Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Aleda Lutz Veteran's Adm. Medical Center. Age 94 years. The son of the late Margarette (Vondette) and Gilbert Tice Bastedo was born June 17, 1922 in Lakefield Township, Michigan. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed by Jameson Corporation retiring with 26 years of service. He was a member of the Saginaw Lodge F the Saginaw American Club; the Washington Club; the Loyal Order of the Moose #82; the Bridgeport Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3963 and the V.F.W. He enjoyed playing cards. Surviving are a son, two daughters and their spouses, William and Barbara Bastedo; Peggy Hubbard; Sharon and Tom Jewell; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie Gubbins; Cathy and Bob Ashworth; Shannon and Joel Tarman; Andrea and Anders Ohnstad; Michael Mellusi; Steven Jewell; Mark and Heather Bastedo; Dena and Gabe Garcia; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; many nieces, nephews and friends. One brother and seven sisters, Robert Bastedo, Pearl Federspiel, Hilda Neddo, Caroline Kissane, Kathleen L. Smith; Joy Ann Aho, Florence Sargent and June Hausman have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev.Bill Bodnar will officiate with cremation to follow.
