James Richard Bieberitz Hemlock, Michigan Age 75, Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 26 after a courageous fight with cancer. He died at Covenant Medical Center of systemic lupus induced lung lymphoma after successfully overcoming brain lymphoma in 2015. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Lynne Bieberitz (Buetow), three children, William Bieberitz and wife Carrie, Rebecca Horner and husband Tod, Kristine Babcock and husband Paul; his grandchildren, Stacey and Chad Thurman, Steve Babcock and Nick Babcock; his great granddaughter, Brielle Thurman; a dear young woman Sheyenne Hagenow, and his dog Aussie. Born in Saginaw, MI to the late William and Frieda Bieberitz, Jim attended St. Michael's Lutheran School in Richville and graduated from Vassar High School.He was also a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church Oakley where he served as an usher and trustee. He enjoyed working at the church and school, especially outdoor work. He served with the Army Michigan National Guard from 1959-1962.Jim worked at Fisher Body Flint, Wickes Machine Tool Saginaw and retired from Ingersoll CM Systems Midland where he was a machine builder and service engineer. He spent 30 years traveling the world for his job. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, planting trees and working outdoors in the yard especially with his John Deere tractor. Jim was known for his grilling skills and especially his BBQ chicken for big and small family parties and the Ostomy Association. A funeral service will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 16070 W. Brady Rd. Oakley, MI 48649 at 4pm on Saturday, April 30 with a meal served following the service at the Brady Township Hall one mile South of the church on Hemlock Road. Visitation will be held at W.L. Case Funeral Chapel, 201 Miller Rd. Saginaw, MI on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial for the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church building fund or your favorite charity.
