WILSON, JAMES SIDNEY "JIM" Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday evening, July 10, 2017, at his home, at the age of 81 years. He was born April 15, 1936, in Saginaw. He graduated from General Motors Institute in 1959, working at Malleable Iron Foundry and then Saginaw Steering Gear until 1992. He later worked at MacMillan Engineering in Bay City. He married Arlene A. Calkins on August 3, 1957, and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. She survives him. Jim was a member of Ames United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Lost Lake Woods. Jim enjoyed fixing things, working with wood, watching sports, helping people, duck hunting, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Besides his wife, Arlene, he is survived by two sons, Douglas J. Wilson and Donald S. (Sally) Wilson; grandchildren, Craig Wilson, Carolyn (Bo) Parker, and a great-grandchild, Baby Parker, due in August, Brian Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, and Kaitlyn Wilson; good friend for many years, Stanley Anderson; cousin, Janet Ingel and her family; sisters-in-law, Eugena Calkins and Gayle Zimmerman; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Wilson Krause; parents-in-law, Beulah and Orlo Calkins; daughter-in-law, Patrice (Patti) Wilson; brothers-in-law, Clair Calkins and Stuart Zimmerman; special uncle and aunt, Sidney and Gladys Stingel. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Ames United Methodist Church, 801 State Street. Rev. Douglas Mater will officiate. Private interment will take place later in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, and then at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
