Bremer, James W. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 27, 2015. Age 77 years. He was born February 24, 1938, in Saginaw, the son of the late Carl and Irene (Wilber) Bremer. He married Eula Wells on February 18, 1961, in Shawneetown, Illinois, and made their home in Saginaw. Jim and Eula enjoyed their cabin up north, spending time with their dear friends there. Eula predeceased Jim on September 30, 2010. Jim was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the C & O Railroad, where he had worked for many years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with a large circle of good friends. Jim is survived by son, James M. Bremer, and step-son, Mike Long (Susan); six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; his dear friend and companion, Sonia Henderson; brother, Arthur (Sheryl) Bremer; sisters Evelyn (Dave) Jones and Catherine (Al) Zimmerman; many loving nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his parents and wife Eula, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, Patricia LaPan, Marian Lingle, Helen Lash, Tom Bremer and Edward Bremer. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State Street, Bridgeport. Pastor Ronald L. Sinclair will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Jim's family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and then at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
