James John Zestos
Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at his home. Age 71 years.
The oldest son of the late Eva (Stumpos) and John Zestos was born March 8, 1953 in Bay City, Michigan. He attended Howe Military School and graduated from Douglas MacArthur High school. He was a restaurateur and businessman, spending most of his working years managing Johnny’s Bonanza. James was an avid hunter, hunting big game animals from moose in Alaska to elk in New Mexico. He loved pheasant hunting in South Dakota with his family. He enjoyed concerts, traveling, and a good steakhouse.
Surviving are his son, Robert Fish; his brother, sisters and their spouses, Nick and Debbie Zestos; Peggy and Rev. Peter Bistolarides; Elaine Tambouridis; Tena and Dan Mendyk; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Rev. Timothy Cook and Rev. Peter Bistolarides will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday where the Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Pheasants Forever or St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
