Jane Kathleen (Koeppen) Wardin, 93, of Hemlock, Michigan, went home to Heaven on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Edgewood Assisted Living. The daughter of the late William and Emilie (Heinrich) Koeppen, Jane was born on July 15, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Bethleham Lutheran School in Saginaw, Laporte School in Laporte, and graduated from Hemlock High School in 1945. She worked for her father and Uncle Herman at Koeppen Brothers grocery/general store in Laporte, Michigan. Jane met her husband Alvin W. Wardin at St. Peter Walther League. They married on June 12, 1949, raising four children on their dairy farm in Hemlock, Michigan, and enjoyed 58 ears of married life together. Alvin preceded her in death on October 30, 2007. Jane was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She loved God and her family, expecially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her heart. She loved babies and her cats, and she loved to sing. She sang in the church choir all of her adult life, played in the handbell choir for many years, and was a member of the St. Peter Mary Martha Society. She was an expert seamstress and taught 4-H sewing and knitting in her home for 40 years.
