Janet Frances Miller of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. She was 78 years old. Janet Frances Bolf was born on September 7, 1942 in Owosso, Michigan to the late, Peter and Frances (Neitling) Bolf. She was a proud 1960 graduate of Saginaw High School. She met the love of her life, William Francis “Bill” Miller while working at the Bancroft Hotel. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 30, 1961; he preceded her in death on October 8, 2020. Janet had a love and affinity toward flowers and became owner and operator of The Flower Junction Flower Shop in Saginaw for over 15 years. She and Bill were proud members of American Legion Auxiliary Post #439. Janet will forever be remembered for her indomitable spirit, for her honest as well as straightforward insight, and for the love she had for those, and for the love she shared with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons: Tad (Eileen) Miller of Newburg, PA; Yale (Lori) Miller of Lewiston; two grandchildren: Emma Miller and her boyfriend, Brandon Smith of Beaverton; Lcp. Peter Miller and his fiancée, Savannah Krolewski of Camp LeJeune, NC; two sisters-in-law: Mary LaFray of Saginaw; Kathy O’Toole of Saginaw; two brothers-in-law: John (Helen) Miller of Midland; Rick (Renee) Miller of Nashville, TN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Victoria Weiler and Shirley Bolf.
A memorial service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Honoring Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, masks are required, visitation is limited to 25 people at a time, and social distancing encouraged.
