Our beloved Tubster passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. Marys of Michigan with her family by her side. She was 74 years old. Janet Kay Dwyer was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on September 17, 1944, the last of thirteen children, and a twin, born to the late Harry and Naomi (Hines) Dwyer. Tubby attended Buena Vista High School. She married Thomas Eugene Doyle on June 3, 1967 in Clio, Michigan, following his return from the United States Army; he preceded her in death on August 24, 1984. Tubby worked at Meijer in various positions before retiring after 31 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, softball, and playing cards with her sisters. Tubby was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Tubby could make friends wherever she went. She could engage in conversations with anyone, always accepting people where they were at in life, never making judgment. Tubby always had a smile on her face, a joke on her lips, and a soul full of laughter. She was truly a remarkable and extraordinary woman. In the face of many health struggles throughout her life, Tubby always stayed positive, upbeat, and sarcastic. She was an indomitable spirit to both family and friends. Tubby will forever be remembered for her quick wit and her love for her family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Faith Abbott and the staff of St. Marys of Michigan 5 North especially, Kim Dougherty, Renee Bauer, Terrisha Knott, Sue, Jim, and Holly for all the love and care they provided to Tubby throughout the years.
