Jay E. Newvine of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved cousin, nephew, companion, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, June 3, 2022, at his home. He was 69 years old. Jay E. Newvine was born on August 16, 1952, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Ervin Myron and Lettie B. (Neer) Newvine. He was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Jay began working at General Motors Power Train as an assembly line worker, retiring after many years of loyal and dedicated service. As a young boy, Jay studied judo and was first in his class. He learned the skill of becoming a trap shooter from his father and later became a successful competitor winning many pins, awards, and trophies over the years. Jay took the sport seriously and made the bullets he used for shooting. He loved traveling upstate to Houghton Lake, boating, and classic cars. Jay also enjoyed watching television and movies, especially Marvel movies. Above all, he treasured and cherished his family and close friends. He truly had a heart of gold and left his indelible mark on this world through his kindness and truly living a simple life.

Surviving are an aunt, Grace Newvine of Saginaw; two cousins: Robert Newvine of Saginaw; Thomas (Teresa) Newvine and their children: Ryan, Alyssa, and Molly, all of Saginaw; and his great friend, Karen Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Lettie Newvine.
