Jean M. Arch Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother and grandmother passed on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Covenant HealthCare Harrison, with her family at her side; at the age of 87 years. Jean Marie was born on July 17, 1932, in Freeland, Michigan the daughter of the late John E. and Leona A. (Bruns) Lutz. She married John B. Arch, Sr., on November 24, 1951, in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on July 17, 1996. Jean worked alongside her husband operating Johns Refrigeration together for 30 years. She also cared for many children over the years and became affectionately known as "Grandma Arch". She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Jean enjoyed working on puzzles and crocheting. Above all, Jean loved the time spent with her family, especially with her great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter: Linda (C. Lee) Walker of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Scott (Lauren) Hager of GA; Tim (Chris) Hager of IL; Lindsey (Lowell) Cramer of Freeland; Marc (Valerie) Schrems of Freeland; Andrea (Taichi Matsumoto) Walker of IL; five great-grandchildren: Brooklynn Schrems; Madilynn Schrems; Victoria Hager; Logan Hager; Savannah Cramer; a brother: William (Sandy) Lutz of Bay City; a sister: Mary Lou (Bud) Fields of St. Charles; and a very dear friend: Patti MacArthur Russel. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents and husband, Jean is preceded in death by a son: John B. Arch, Jr.; a daughter: Christina (Daniel) Hager; a granddaughter: Rachel Walker; a brother: Robert (Barbara) Lutz; and two sisters: Elizabeth (Karl) Patzschke; Patricia (Raymond) Ballien.
A funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. Marc Hopps will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Jean will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
