Jean Marie (Colpean) Clunie Saginaw, Michigan In loving memory of Jean Marie Clunie, born May 20, 1926 to Lester and Mary (Tilsworth) Colpean. Jean was taken to be with the Lord on September 20, 2014 after a brief illness. As a loving mother and devoted wife, Jean's strong desire was to serve the Lord, get married, and raise her children to know the Lord. She successfully met that goal with a gleeful heart, praising her Father in heaven always. Jean married Robert Ransom Clunie on June 25, 1949 in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Virginia and husband Nelson Spear. Jean's sister Carol and Lyle Cousins also married on June 25, 1960. But the family bond formed by these three sisters goes further than celebrating the same wedding anniversary date. The three sisters, along with their mother, gathered their families each year and took lengthy summer vacations together on the shore of Lake Huron at Tawas, Michigan. Camping with the three families created cherished memories for each and every relative associated with these recreational outings. A devoted church member, Jean made sure to keep her family closely connected with the Second Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. Jean and her sisters raised their families to hold fast to the teachings of the Bible, a loving lesson learned long ago from their mother. Jean's husband, Robert Clunie, passed away on May 27, 2006, and Jean now joins him in heaven to enjoy their eternal life. Surviving Jean are their three boys; David (Kathy) of Frankenmuth, William (Nancy) of Dixfield, Maine, James (Doris) of Freeland; sisters Virginia Spear and Carol (Lyle) Cousins; grandchildren David, Neal (Jessica), Heather (Chad) Davis, Melissa, Brian (Mary), Audrey (Robert) Kennedy, Elliott and Justine; great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Breeanna, Brynn, Brody, Madison, Alayna, and Louisa Clunie; step-grandchildren Bryant, Cameron, Tracie & Donald; step great-grandchildren Calvin, Cody, Nick, Jeremy, Anna, and Morgan; and Bob's sisters Joan and Gwen (Jim); as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Besides Jean's parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Robert Colpean, brothers-in-law Nelson Spear, Thomas Clunie, and Harold Storz, sister-in-law Ruth Howie, and daughter-in-law Mary Clunie. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd. Rev. James Neumann will officiate with burial later at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
