Jean Meyer

Meyer, Jean Saginaw, MI Passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Luther Manor, age 92 years. Jean was born in Saginaw County, Michigan May 28, 1922 the daughter of the late Arthur and Martha Wiltse. She married Carroll Meyer August 8, 1942. He predeceased her June 21, 2001. Jean worked at a gun plant during WWII. She worked for over 40 years as a hairdresser with most of those years owning and operating her own beauty shoppe in Thomas Township. Most of her life was spent in and around Saginaw County. Jean belonged to Washington Club and VFW Auxiliary, holding various committee positions in both organization. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, music, dancing and antiquing. She had several collections, especially tea pots and frogs. Jean taught Sunday school, held various positions in Liskow School PTA and served on the Owen Cemetery Board in Thomas Township. Jean is survived by three grandsons, Chad, Mark and Troy; four great-grandchildren, Parker Meyer, Taylor Hayes, Jackson Meyer and Ethan Meyer; three siblings, Ed, Mildred and Dorothy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jean was predeceased by a son, Larry in Feb. 2001; eight siblings, Art, Mike, Rich, Don, Wilma, Lila, Beatrice and Helen. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St. Rev. William Brassow will officiate. Burial will occur at a later time. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Friday from 2:00 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
