Jeanne K. Ross Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died on March 8, 2017 with loved ones near, as a result of a tragic fall.
Jeanne was born on August 28, 1932, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late John and Mabel Donahue. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1950, and later attended Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State College. She married Robert H. Ross on September 14, 1957. She taught school at Hemmeter Elementary before her daughters were born. She later worked as a social worker for the American Red Cross and Caro Community Hospital. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Jeanne made the most of her retirement years traveling with her husband, splitting her time between Traverse City, MI and Florida. Enjoying family and friends was a priority for her. Nobody enjoyed a good bargain at Kohl's more than Jeanne. She had a gift of quickly turning a stranger into a friend wherever she went.
Surviving besides her husband Robert, are two daughters; Julie (Glenn) Morrison and Mary (Dennis) Frailing, four grandchildren; Mallory Frailing, Kyle (Katy) Frailing, Tyler Morrison, Lauren (Tara Hackel) Morrison, two great-grandsons; Lucas and Logan Frailing; several nieces and nephews; and many special neighbors. She was predeceased by her siblings Betty A. Dibble and Donald J. Donahue; two brothers-in-law, Frederick Gerling and Jack Savidge.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter or a charity of donor's choice.
