Passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Covenant Select Care. Age 59 years.
The son of Jac (JoAnn) Ford and the late Barbara Jean (Sherlock) Ford was born August 28, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan. Jeff graduated from Swan Valley High School, Class of 1983, where he excelled at Football, Track and Field and Basketball. He attended Saginaw Valley State University and graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and physics education. He played football with the Bay City Brahmas Semi-Pro Team and helped them win their only championship. Jeff taught at the Deckerville Schools for 22 years where he coached track and football. Recently for the State of Michigan, He taught On-line studies in Chemistry where he was voted Teacher of the Year by parents and students. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and animal lover, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and his beloved dogs and cats. He was noted for documenting the only known Wolverine in Michigan, following it for over 6 years and co-authored a book about his experiences- The Lone Wolverine. He also published numerous articles in Woods and Waters and other publications.
Surviving besides his father and loving mother, Jac and JoAnn Ford are a daughter and son, Riley Jo Fleming and her husband, Brendan; Clint Jeffrey Ford; a sister, Teri Skidmore and her husband, Dave; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A brother, Max Brown, has also predeceased him.
In accordance with Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 10, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Saginaw, MI 48609. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 until the time of the memorial service.
