Jeffrey "Jeff" "Jethro" James Lawrence of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Monday, May 8, 2023, at his home. He was 63 years old. Jeffrey James Lawrence was born on March 8, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late William Satterlee and Catherine Susan (Bauer) Lawrence. He was a proud 1978 graduate of Arthur Hill School. Following graduation, he attended Delta College where he studied architecture. He met and married the love of his life, Debra Sue Fenley, on August 15, 1987; she survives him. Jeff was employed with Garber Buick as an auto mechanic, retiring after 32 years of loyal and dedicated service. His garage became the epicenter for his tool collection, including all his channel locks. Jeff had a heart of gold and loved being a husband, father, and grandfather above all things. He was an outdoorsman enjoying his guns, skiing, four wheeling, side by side on the ranger, fishing, and going "up North". His little piece of heaven was spending time with his family and friends, spending time in the Upper Peninsula, and most importantly opening "deer drinking" weekend. Loved and adored by everyone he met, Jeff will forever be remembered for his kind, beautiful, and lighthearted spirit, for his amazing ability to befriend and connect with all people, for his selflessness to anyone in need, and for truly living and amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years Debra S. Lawrence of Saginaw; a daughter, Samantha Lawrence of Saginaw; two grandchildren: Maci May Holm and Memphis Keegan James Lawrence, and their father, Keegan Holms of Saginaw; father-in-law, James Fenley of Saginaw; two brothers and a sister: Susan Lawrence of Rochester; Mike (Pat) Lawrence of Royal Oak; Mark (Nancy) Lawrence of MN; three sisters- and one brother-in-law: Sandra (Ted) Lincoln of Freeland; Karen Wiggins of Saginaw; Bob (Pam) Fenley of Texas, Mary (Nick) Morningstar of AZ.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends that he considered family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sydney Catherine Lawrence; parents: William and Catherine Lawrence; mother-in-law, Edith Fenley; brother-in-law, David Stakor.
Honoring Jeffrey's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at his favorite "watering hole:" Bad River Bar & Grill, 103 N. Saginaw Street, St. Charles, Michigan, 48655. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
