Jeffrey “Jeff” A. Steckert of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at HealthSource of Saginaw. He was 72 years old. Jeffrey A. Steckert was born on March 17, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late William F. and Ilah M. (Glick) Steckert III. He was a proud 1966 graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School. Following graduation, Jeff attended Delta College. He married Janet Matthews in 1967; He later married, Melody Sue Cochran.

Surviving are two daughters and a son, Jennifer (Lee) Shilling of Ortonville; Lauren (Patrick) Hilligas of Midland; Nathan (Renee) Steckert of NC; daughter-in-law, Melissa Steckert of Houghton Lake; 8 grandchildren: Erin (Novella) Steckert, Justin (Brittany) Steckert, Nikolas Shilling, Elijah Steckert, Isaiah Steckert, Caidin, Gabriel, and Isabelle; two great-grandchildren; brother, Brady (Becky) Steckert of Saginaw; sister, Ann (Bill Raymond) Steckert of St. Charles.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Steckert.

A memorial service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 mackinaw Road. Pastor Matthew Hauser will officiate. Honoring Jeff’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Due to restrictions set forth by the State of Michigan and the worldwide heatlh pandemic, all visitors are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
