Jekell "Jake" Quirante

Quirante, Jekell "Jake" Burt, Michigan Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and great-uncle, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. Age 49 years. Jake was born October 8, 1965, in the Philippines, the son of the late Jose and Luzviminda (Macoy) Quirante. He came to the United States as a teenager. He graduated from T. L. Handy High School in Bay City, where he had been on the wrestling team, and in the State Finals. Jake had worked for Lingle Equipment as a heavy equipment mechanic. He also enjoyed bowling, softball, hunting and fishing. He married Karen Reinig on October 22, 1988; she survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Sarah (Tim Stafford), Samantha and Selina; four sisters and three brothers, Jackie (Steve) Samborn, Joel (Ann), Jocelyn (Marlon), Jeffrey (Blanche), Jolly (Mark) Rousse, Jose, and Janella (Scott) Tafel; a half-brother, Oliver (Rachel), and a half-sister, Matilde Teat; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dog, Abby Baby. Jake's family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family's wishes.
