Jennifer "Jenn" Leigh Sommer of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, February 11, 2022. She was 49 years old. Jennifer Leigh Stein was born on December 19, 1972, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Janice (Orth) DeGuilio. She was a 1991 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Following graduation, Jennifer proudly attended Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. Her love story began when she was 13 years old, meeting the love of her life, Jeffery David Sommer. They were united in marriage on June 10, 1995; he survives her. Jenn was a passionate bird watcher and loved traveling and camping with her husband and son. She was an avid reader and found peace and tranquility being in nature as well as working in her flower garden. Jenn was also a superb cook and exquisite baker. She left her indelible mark on this world through her generosity and selflessness to others, her quick wit and excellent sense of humor, and for the love and kindness she held deeply for those she loved.
Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Jeffrey David Sommer of Saginaw; the light of her life her son, Quinn Sommer of Saginaw; mother, Janice DeGuilio of Saginaw; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Patricia Sommer of Caseville; three sisters and one brother: Andrea (Keith) Ott of Constantine; Traci DeGuilio of Davison; Ashley (Brian) Schneider of Saginaw; Aaron DeGuilio of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Danielle (William) Stenke of Findlay, OH; a special cousin, Melissa (Greg) Wendling of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Jacqueline Orth.
