Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
The son of the late John and Theo (Hutchins) Clairmont was born on September 26, 1933 in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and attended Central Michigan University. Jerrold served in the Navy during the Korean War. He married Barbara Jean Rabideau in 1955; she survivies him. Jerrold retired from the United States Postal Service in 1991 with 30 years of service. He was also the past president of the United Postal Workers Union of Michigan. Jerrold was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #497 and a member of the Polish Falcons. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and most especially cherished time spent with family, enjoying northern Michigan and caring for his beloved pets.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Barbara, and their children: Jerrold (Lisa Villareal) Clairmont, Thomas Clairmont, David (Jamie) Clairmont, grandchildren: Jonathan, Nicholas, Dawson, Jase, three great-grandchildren, his sister, Roseanne Savage, and many relatives and friends. Jerrold was predeceased by his daughter Suzanne Clairmont and his brothers: Michael Clairmont and Edward Clairmont.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate with military honors to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Saginaw County or the American Cancer Society.
