Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at his home, with his family at his side; at the age of 96 years.
The son of the late Orval and Flossie (Prickett) Wardlow, Jess was born on October 11, 1924 in Marion County, Indiana. He proudly served in the United States Army, Jess was a Prisoner of War in Germany during World War II; he was honorably discharged. He married Nada B. Ecker on July 4, 1964 in Saginaw, Michigan; she survives him. Jess retired from U.S. Graphite after many years of service. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling and animals. Above all he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife of 56 years, Nada B. Wardlow; four daughters, two sons and their spouses: Connie Johnson; Ruth and Richard Godi; Randy Wardlow; Norma and Daniel Nelson; Terri and Hugo Jimenez; Paul and Tracy Wardlow; ten grandchildren: Tina, Dawn, Tammy, Danny, Hugo, Marnie, Jeron, Tobriah, Jean, Jesse; eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members.Jess is preceded in death by former wife: Jean Wardlow; two sons: Don Wardlow, James Wardlow; a great-grandson: T.J. Larkin.
A private funeral service will take place at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Chaplain David Wachowiak will officiate with burial to follow at Spaulding Township Cemetery. Military Honors will take place at the cemetery, under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post 22.
