Passed away February 26, 2015, with his family by his side at the age of 91. Jesse was born September 9, 1923, son of the late Charles and Harriet (Bentley) Thornhill, in Kokomo, Indiana. He married Elizabeth Britsman in 1951, she survives him. Jesse served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired from Saginaw Public Schools after many years of service. He enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, golfing, bowling, woodworking, was known as "Mr. Fix It" and spending time with his loving family. Besides his wife Elizabeth, Jesse is survived by his sons, Gary (Linda) Thornhill, Ohio, Douglas (Kathy) Thornhill, Saginaw and his daughter, Lisa (Robert) Cooper, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jessica and Nathanial Cooper and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elsie Rearick, Vera Klinginsmith and Irene Colton and his brothers, Frank, Archie and Cyril Thornhill. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw. Rev. Robert Richards will officiate with entombment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00a.m. until the time of service.
