Jessie “Bugs” Chavez Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2020. He was 65 years old. Jessie Chavez Jr. was born on December 3, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Jesse Chavez and Jennie Murillo. He was a proud 1972 graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, Jessie set out to accomplish his dreams, becoming the lead singer of a rock and roll band. He and his band mates eventually formed the group, Banzai. Jessie was a gifted singer, had excellent stage presence, and had the passion and charisma to entertain an audience. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and faithful volunteer as an usher. As a young man, Jessie enjoyed playing softball, basketball, and football; always cheering for his favorite teams, the Michigan State University Spartans and Saginaw High Trojans. He was selfless, generous, and would often do or give anything to family and friends. Jessie had a heart of gold, especially if it concerned any type of animal. Above all, he loved and cherished his pets and family.
